About

My name is Dan Ellison. As my twitter profile states, I am a “marketing, sales, and insurance professional. My interests include golf.” The truth is, I have many interests besides business and golf. I pride myself on being a well rounded individual.

I am originally from Detroit, Michigan. I am a proud alumnus of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy, or “The High,” as alumni refer to it.  After graduating high school, I attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I graduated with my Bachelor of the Arts(B.A.) degree four years later. While in college I tried to expand my view of the world. I competed in golf and baseball in the NCAA’s Division III, volunteered my time in the local community, and even had the opportunity to travel abroad.

For almost ten years, I have worked for the Farmers Insurance Group. I am a results driven marketing, sales, and insurance professional. I have had a track record of success serving the needs of a global organization. I am a team player, with excellent relationship building and communication skills. I have a proven ability to drive business with strategic solutions, and I am also an active volunteer in the community.

Personally, I am married to my beautiful wife, Courtney. We are very excited to be expecting our first child any day now.[Update: Baby was born. See post from 1/6/13 on my home page]

Favorite quote: “Technology alone is not enough. It’s technology married with the liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the results that make our hearts sing.”

– Steve Jobs
